God’s Obsession With Man

Psalm 8: 4 (KJV)
What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?

God desires intimacy with man. Man was made in His image and likeness. God often visited Adam and Even in the garden of Eden, in the cool of the day to fellowship with them. God is desirous of men. God’s obsession is to fellowship with mankind.

The heart of God yearns for intimacy with man, the heart of God longs for intimacy with his children. This is the Father-heart of God

God is so mindful and obsessed with man, that he had to become man. The monarch of the universe, the king of heaven and earth, the eternal elixir; He left all of the glories of heaven; the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The glory of the Father in all fullness came down to dwell among men.

Think of it, what is man that God would become man? Not only did he become man, He also died for man, and placed his Spirit to dwell in man. This is climax of all new creation realties. The indwelling presence!

Man is God’s obsession. Fellowshipping with man is God’s desire. Man was made for his pleasure. Angels angels could not bring so much pleasure to God as much as man would, He didn’t die for angels, but for man. God is mindful man; all of God’s design, thoughts, plans are for man.

Psalm 8: 5 (KJV)
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,

God gave man dominion. Through the first man, Adam, we gained Adamic Authority.

God gave the earth to man, and the dominion over the earth. God didn’t give the dominion to Satan, though Satan was in the world as a fallen angel, because God willed the world to man; hence, the Adamic authority was higher than the angelic authority as far as the earth was concerned.

But man sinned, and due to the fall of man, man lost his Adamic Authority to angelic authority, I mean to the fallen angels who lost their former estate in heaven. He weakens men and nations.

Isaiah 14:12 (KJV)
How are thou fallen O Lucifer, How are cut down Lucifer you son of the morning; you who weaken the nations

But there is good news. What was lost in Eden through disobedience of Adam, was gained by Christ’s obedience in His death, burial and resurrection. Eden is no more a place of our dwelling, we have a better city. Christ is not just a person, He is a place, Christ is an address. That place is Zion, in Zion, angel are ministering to us, we who are the heirs of salvation. God gives his angels charge over us.

Psalm 91:11-12 (KJV)
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

God loves you so much that He gives His angels charge over you. Elisha asked God to open his servant’s eyes and the servant saw the chariots of the host of heaven that surrounds them. The ministry of Angels was predominant in the Bible to aid men. We are not without help.

Angels visited Abraham. Jacob wrestled and prevailed with an angel of God. Joshua stood before the captain of the Lord’s host. An archangel broke through the domain of Persia to deliver ann answered prayer to Daniel. An angel visited Mary. Jesus had angels strengthening him after he had prayed. An angel stood by Paul at night bringing him words of assurance. This is how much God is mindful of man. God gives his angels in charge over us. The devil know this too!

1 Corinthians 1: 9 (KJV)
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

This is the essence and the beauty of Christianity. God is obsessed with us. God’s obsession is to fellowship with man. We have been called into fellowship with God. God is living in man, indwelling in man and fellowshipping with Him. This is the Father children relationship of God.

Philippians 3: 10 (KJV)
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

So how do we respond to this? We respond by coming to His throne room. He already invited us. There’s an invitation from God for us to come to the throne for the experience of our lives. We must pursue God. We must yearn, hunger, long and thirst to fellowship with God.

Hebrews 4: 16 (KJV)
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

DECLARATION
I am obsessed with God as God is obsessed with me. I yearn and long for His fellowship. I create time and attention to be with God daily. I am the Father’s delight. I am accepted in the beloved.
