Believers are often in a need for impartation of power, graces, anointing and more. They are quick to ask for prayer or have hands laid laid on them. While all of these are good and yet scriptural, we must be fixated on what God has done and established in us at new birth. The new testament is first about what God has done; whatever we do henceforth, is predicated on what God already accomplished in us.
One of the blessings and the realities of the man in Christ is the indwelling presence; we don’t just have “God with us”, We have “God in us”. The source of all powers, graces and anointing is in us. Rather than seeking for impartation, we ought to focus of activation.
Religion says “Do”, The Gospel says “Done”. If you don’t understand what Jesus has “Done”, you will fall into religious efforts and performances, trying to do everything with nothing to show for it.
Some of us haven’t even maximize the gifts and graces on our lives, we haven’t put them to work fully, yet we are seeking for more. More is good, but what have you done with what was given to you? We ought to put what we have in us to work first, and make progress with it. We need to activate the power that’s already in us.
Ephesians 3: 20 (AMPC)
Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].
The power of God is at work in you. Focus on what God is doing within; but sadly, we get lost with what is happening on the outside. God has started a good work in you; focus on it, build on it, stir up the gift of God in you and activate it. The power of God is always there, just like you would always have electricity in the socket, but power will not come up until the switch is on. Activate the power of God in you, switch it on. Glory to God!
2 Timothy 1: 6 (KJV)
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
Paul tells Timothy here; hands have already been laid on you, the power came on you when I laid hands on you. Now, I am instructing you to stir up (activate, switch on) the gift of God on your life. Don’t seek for power or gifts, it’s already in you. You have it, just stir it up. The New International Version puts it this way … “I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God”
How do you do that? Speak in other tongues. Release those words out from the depth of you. Speak bold and audacious words. Confess God’s word until the power comes out from you.
The next verse sums it all…
2 Timothy 1: 7 (KJV)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
A lot of people have missed out on God’s purpose and plans for their lives, not because of demons or the devil; but because of fear. Fear has limited the flow of the anointing. They are thinking “what if”. Listen, there are no “ifs” with God. With God “ALL” things are possible.
Fear is a spirit cast it out. Never tell yourself “I can’t”. I can do all things. I have all things. Nothing is stopping me. God can’t stop you, the devil can’t you, the only person that can stop you is you. Rise up today and switch on the power. Don’t wait on God, God is actually waiting on you to get started. Activate now!
DECLARATION
Down in me is the power of God. I activate by speaking the word of God, I step out in faith and boldness. Nothing is holding me, I am free as a bird. I am powerful, I am enough. God is for me, with me and in me. Glory!
