Several splits, broken relationships, divorces began with little seeds of offence. Many are still carrying the offense and enmity of many years. They have moved on but not with the offenses. We can have disagreement but not disharmony!
Offences will always happen but we cannot make enemies. It is natural to be defensive when someone acts offensive to you, but being natural isn’t our way. The love walk is more than a command, it is our nature.
Philippians 1 : 9 – 10 [KJV]
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and “without offence” till the day of Christ.
An offence is not an act of sin, but can cause an act of sin. Here Paul prays that the Philippian Church be “without offence” i.e. to be faultless. Is it possible to be faultless? Emphatically Yes! If it is not, Paul wouldn’t dare pray such for the believers at Philippi.
Jesus had a share of what offence felt like, but he maintained his composure even in the face of death. He never sinned, never told a lie, never answered back when insulted; when he suffered he did not threaten to get even; he left his case in the hands of God who always judges fairly.
The word of God given to us is more than enough to guide, instruct, direct and present us faultless (without offence) before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.
Subject yourself to the Lordship of the Word, let it gain ascendancy in your spirit man, and see what the Holy Spirit wants you to see, not what you are bent on seeing.
Be a Christian with a difference; free from spot, blame and offence. Be conscious of the newness of life that’s within you and change your world with it. His time is at hand, and glory to His name, even us. Grace to your heart!
DECLARATION
I am Christian with a difference. I am free from all offence. My whole life pleases the Lord. I listen to His voice and I follow Him daily. I am a sheep of His pasture and where ever He leads me I go and I bring many to the light I have received.
