How God Works

John 5: 17 (AMPC)
But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work.

Jesus shows us that God worked and He has never ceased working. If God works, how does He work?

Genesis 1: 3 [KJV]
And God said, let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis 1: 6 – 7 [KJV]
And God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters … and it was so

God works by his WORDS. The creation came into being by His words. God works through the creative power of His words.

God and His words are one. God and His words are inseparable. God is bound by His words. God rules by decrees. When God speaks, his integrity and fidelity travels with His utterance. Even if the utterance is faint, all of God is travelling in it.

God doesn’t just speak. Speaking for God is work. That’s how he operates.

Whenever God is speaking, God is working. If God has spoken, God has worked! That’s how God worked in creation. So, how does God work in men?

Isaiah 55: 11 (KJV)
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

All it takes for God to accomplish anything is to send His words. The words complete and does the assignment, it does not return empty handed.

Psalm 107: 20 (KJV)
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Remember Lazarus, dead for four days, buried and already stinking. Jesus shouted “Lazarus, Come forth”. All Lazarus needed to hear was the words of him who has power over death. Lazarus was not just buried, he was bound as well. The words raised him and loosed him. That’s how God works!

Today, God has not changed. He works in the church and in our hearts through His words.

John 6: 63 (KJV)
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Hebrews 4: 12 (KJV)
For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Thank God for the precious gift of the written word of God. The written word has been given to us not just to read or study, but that it can be spoken as well. The power in the written word is the same power in the spoken word.

Any form in which God’s word is communicated is powerful either by reading, writing, speaking, publishing or hearing. It will fulfil its intended purpose without any alteration. The word of God is working will work in you with mighty results. Glory to God!
