Temptation is just a choice. It is not a sin either. Jesus was tempted, so temptation is no big deal. Every temptation is an opportunity to do the right thing or the wrong thing. It is just a choice! To be tempted is not a sin; to yield to temptation becomes sin.
The only way to make the right choice every time and stay ahead of devil’s schemes and manipulation is to keep the mind renewed always by the Word. Whenever we fail to renew the mind or become unconscious of what the Word says about us or requires of us, failing to temptation is inevitable.
It takes the help of the Holy Spirit to make the right choice every time or at everywhere. If we often yield ourselves to the Spirit, we will not yield ourselves to temptation. Yielding to the Spirit is simply to receive, to become conscious and to practice the Word of God always; and by this we will be positioned to make the right choice always.
Romans 12: 2 [KJV]
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewal the renewal of your mind, that ye may prove that which is good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Notice what the Bible says again … The renewing of the mind will produce good, acceptable and perfect will of God. All rights and wrong choices comes from the mind. All good and bad decisions comes from the mind. The mind will definitely go astray if you fail to renew in the Word.
James 1: 21 (KJV)
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James uses another word for the renewal of the mind “The Saving Of The Soul”. Each time you pick your Bible to read, meditate and study; you are saving your soul from error, dangers, mistakes, falling into temptations and sins
Transformation comes by the renewal of the mind on a constant basis; right decisions are made from a mind rooted and grounded in the Word. We must not give any chance to the devil; we must be prepared always. All days are full of evil but we can surely bring the good out of them.
You must vigilant and ready to quench every fiery dart and assault of the wicked one. You must be a step ahead of the devil always; you must settle the day before it begins; hence personal Bible studies and unceasing prayerful life are very mandatory!
Ephesians 5: 15 (KJV)
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise…
To be circumspect means to be wise. The reason you are not walking in God’s perfect will is due to the lack of the renewing of the mind. When you subject your mind to the Lordship of the Word, it will lead and direct it rightly.
Lots of God’s children are making unwise decisions and choices in marriage, ministry, career and even in their health. God does not raise fools, the word of God will train you to become wise and sagacious in all details of life.
Save your soul today! Renew your mind today! Get to work, don’t leave your mind unattended to. God washed your sins not your brains, He won’t do for you what you can do for yourself. Read, study and meditate on the Word of God, it will make you wise and a champion over every affair of life.
DECLARATION
I know who I am in Christ Jesus. I renew my mind to save my soul. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and I have the rightness of God in me. I make the right choices and decision always through the knowledge of the Word at work in me. Glory to God!
