It Is God Who Works In You

Philippians 2: 12 – 13
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

“Work out” is not the same as “work for”. “Work out your salvation” does not mean “work for your salvation.

Essentially, there’s nothing new to work for, Jesus worked for everything. Our job is to work out what Christ has already worked in us.

It actually means to “bring out the works of your salvation”, and we can only “bring it out” because we have been created unto good works in the first place, which God ordained for us before the foundation of the world.

Then Paul concludes in the next verse Philippians 2 vs 13. For it is God who works in you, both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

We are working out, according to what God has worked for and done for us. We work it out because we have the very source of what was worked on inside of us, and this is done with reverence, respect and awe.

Our labour for the Lord is directly proportional to the work of Grace within us. We are not in isolation, we are in partnership.

We work out externally what God has worked in us internally. It is God who works “in” us both to will and to do His good pleasure. Today, recognize and acknowledge that God is at work in you in all of His fullness and glory.
