Acts 3: 6 – 9 (KJV)
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
I believe this is not the first time they would be seeing this crippled man, because the Bible records that he was brought to that spot, to the temple’s gate everyday. This man is known by everyone. If you often come to the temple to pray, this man wouldn’t be a stranger to you
In the same vein, this is not the first time the Apostle would go to the temple to pray, it was their custom. Every Jew would resort to the temple at the hour of prayer. This is a routine for everyone, including the Apostles.
But this time, something changed, the Apostles were no longer ordinary men, they were not the same folks with the rest of the people in the temple; something had happened to them; they had received the Holy Ghost.
They had encountered the power from on high in the upper room. They had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. They have been baptized with fire; they have gained power with God. Now, they are Jesus’ representatives, nothing can stop them.
The striking statement in the scripture above is in 6th verse above.
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have given I thee”; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
This is boldness talking. The Holy Ghost has taken over them. They are longer mere men. They have become men with power. That’s why Peter had the audacity to say to the crippled man “Look On Us” in the 4th verse. The Holy Ghost in them is talking.
You know the rest of the story, the crippled man leaped, walked and praised God. The crippled man may have died with that position, but thank God for the Holy Ghost filled men.
Peter didn’t pray, he simply used the name of Jesus as an instrument. He had a heritage, his inheritance is the name of Jesus. He made a demand on the name of Jesus, and it worked. It always works!
We have been given the power of attorney, to stand in the place of Jesus, and every time we use the name of Jesus, we simply take his place; and the name of Jesus would do what Jesus would have done if He were to be physically present there.
Also, anyone filled with The Holy Ghost is a superman! We are not mere men! We are anointed men! We are a people manifesting God’s presence and fulfilling prophecies. We are God’s super humans!
You can’t give what you don’t have; but we have something. The believer has something, something more than gold, more precious than silver. The Holy Spirit’s presence indwelling in a man’s heart is the most precious thing ever.
2 Corinthians 4: 7 (KJV)
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Thank God for the Holy Ghost. We have something. We have the anointing. We have the name of Jesus. We have the word of God as our two edged sword. We have the gifts of the Spirit.
The Holy Ghost is more than enough. He is all you need. He wants to colour your world. He wants to manifest the power of God in your life. He wants to reveal the glory of God through. He wants people to be saved through you. He is your best teacher, your advocate, standby, comforter and helper.
Today, rise up and take the challenge, and speak like Peter “such as I have, In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I walk boldly in my purpose, all resources needed are available. I walk in power, dominion and influence. Glory to God!
DECLARATION
The Holy Ghost in me is more than enough. I am God’s superman. I have something more than gold. The Holy Ghost in me is my inheritance. He is my God-given property and my most prized possession. He is “such as I have”. Glory to God!
