Let’s Go To The Other Side

Luke 8:22-25 (KJV)
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

In verse 22, Jesus had told them “let us go to the other side”. Jesus knew where they going and nothing was going to stop them. The disciples also should have known too.

When you say “Yes” to follow Jesus, that does not mean there won’t be opposition, but you must make up your mind to follow him all through and you must say “No” to other things.

Success is following God’s plan for your life, even if that plan takes you to the valley of the shadow of death or through the storms of life.

The disciples were in the same ship with Jesus, yet they brought their fears with them. When the storm and the wind hit their ship, they lost their calm, they forgot Jesus had already told them “let us go to the other side”. They lost the picture of their destination.

In verse 24, they woke Jesus up from sleeping; sometimes the best thing to do to give the devil the headache of his life is to sleep. God gives his beloved good sleep. But these disciples wouldn’t sleep, fear won’t let them. They shouted “Master, master, we perish”. They were speaking death before the author of life, they were voicing their fear in the presence of faith personified.

Don’t allow the raging storm get you off course from God’s plan. fix your eyes “on the other side”. Stand in the midst of the storm like Jesus did and command “peace to still”. Don’t talk about your problem, talk to it. Everything listens.

I have made up my mind, I am going to “the other side” to fulfill God’s purpose for my life. Nothing will stop me from going to “the other side”. No storm, wind, challenge or situation is too big to stop me from moving to “the other side” of God’s plan for my life.

Today, talk like Jesus. Declare “Peace be still”. Don’t murmur or complain, it won’t work. Don’t panic or fret, it will make things worse. Stand and make some bold and audacious faith filled statement.

They have told you “Do It Afraid”, but I tell you today, “Do It Anointed”.

David was in the bush, tending his father’s flock; he said “thou anointed my head with oil, my cup run over”. Talk to yourself today, I am anointed. I am equal to the task. Challenges are bread for us. Impossible situations are nothing to us. We are victors of this life. Glory to God!
