2 Corinthians 3: 18 (NKJV)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The first responsibility of the new man in Christ after salvation is to “BEHOLD”, to look, gaze and set his eyes on Jesus, who He is and what He has done, and also who he has become in Christ and what he has received in Christ as well.
2 Corinthians 5: 17 (KJV)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; BEHOLD, all things are become new.
The responsibility of “BEHOLDING” is highly vital, it determines the progress of the believer.
There’s a glory credited into the saints at salvation. It is the totality of God himself. It is everything God is and everything God has. It is God’s indwelling presence. Whether you know it or not, the glory is right on the inside of you.
However, you need to act or do something with what God has given you. That’s why beholding is necessary. The art of beholding is a serious spiritual action. You may never experience the glory you carry until you are awakened to its consciousness by beholding.
Ephesians 4:11, it says, “And he gave some, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers … for the perfecting of the saints.”
Every man in Christ is a saint. Sainthood is not attained in heaven, it is obtained in Christ. It is a finished work of Christ. It is NOT attained, it is obtained.
Saints are not perfect people, they are people being perfected; so also, the church is NOT a place for perfect people, it is a place for perfecting the saints. Hence through the teaching of the word of God by the ministry gifts, the saints are perfected.
Also, through the beholding of the word of God, saints are transformed and their glory revealed.
How do we behold? The answer lies in the opening scripture above.
There’s a glory concealed in the Word of God, the glory in the Word is hidden; but as you search, study and meditate on the scriptures; the glory in the Word of God becomes revealed; and will meet up with the glory already in you at salvation. The result of this is “Revelation”
Proverbs 25: 2 (KJV)
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.
At this stage, light beams into the soul, spiritual growth becomes an unforced rhythm, and prayer becomes automatic. There is a breaking of the outer man for the release of the inward man. The things you struggle to do now becomes a delight.
While you keep at it, at searching the matters of God, the Bible calls this process “are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory”. This is what brings forth “Transformation”.
Colossians 1: 27 (KJV)
To them God would make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
When God looks at us, He sees us in all of the fullness of His glory, but the world can not see this fullness, and even we sometimes, have not seen this glory. We have a duty to search it out through scriptures. Bible study is a lifetime duty.
John 5: 39 (KJV)
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Nothing testifies to the fidelity and the authority of God other than His Word. In and through the scripture, we have eternal life and glory. God and His word are one. God and His word are inseparable. The glory of the saints is the glory of God, the glory of Glory is the glory of His Word.
This glory is revealed as we behold and search the scriptures.
DECLARATION
Christ in me is the hope of glory. I am glorious as I hear the word of God, I am glorious as I study God’s word word. I am changed from glory to glory as I meditate on the word of God. My life is glorious. My days are glorious.
