Thriving Out Of Crisis

2 Corinthians 4: 6 (KJV)
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

The earth was shapeless and formless at its cradle. Genesis 1: 2 tells us And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. At the beginning, darkness was everywhere.

The first thing God did was to make light. The first miracle of creation is LIGHT. Nothing happens without light. Everything responds to light.

Genesis 1: 3 (KJV)
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

The Hebrew word used here is “Or”, it connotes light of day, light of life, light of heavenly luminary, light of instruction, light of prosperity, day break, morning light or divine emanation.

The most remarkable thing here is not the creation of light, but from whence it came from. Remember, the Bible tells us darkness was upon the face of the deep, and after that, God said let there be light and there was light.

Where did the light come from? Through Paul’s revelation, we can see that in the opening scripture above … For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness. There was nothing on the earth except darkness; The Bible tells us … and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

How did God make the light? He commanded light to shine out of darkness! The light that God called forth in Genesis 1: 3, actually came out of darkness. This is mind blowing.

When the Scripture says “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.,” God was creating something from nothing, Paul puts it this way, God commanded light to shine out of darkness.

This shows that darkness in itself is pregnant with light. The light, though overshadowed by darkness, will give expression through an audacious command from the lips of faith. God did not negotiate with darkness, he commanded darkness to give up light, and there was light.

In all darkness there is light; anything you call darkness, inside it, there is light

In every crisis, the wisdom of what to do next lies inside the crisis. There’s a message and solution blueprint hidden inside every crisis. Maximize every moment of crisis, don’t let crisis be a waste.

God did something with the darkness in creation, out of formlessness and shapelessness came forth an infinite blessing for all mankind.

Many times, the darkness is the blessing, the crisis is the blessing; we must take advantage and seize the moment until we get the intelligence to bring something out of the situation.

Every phase in life gives us the opportunity to thrive and become better. Be it good or bad times, high or low moments, hills or valleys.

The adversity that broke some people down, made some others have breakthroughs. The pains that broke some others down, made some others have breakthroughs. What is dragging you down is actually what God has planned to shoot you up.

The difference is in our response. The most powerful element of your faith is your response.

Faith is the best response in dark moments. Faith that sees impossibility as bread. Faith that laughs at challenges. Faith that survives in the midst of hard times. What overcomes the crisis is your response.

Jesus is a master in the art of response; even in the face of death he said; I have power to lay my life down, and I have power to take it again.

Your response during a crisis and darkness moment will determine your next level of victory. Don’t pass through this season without converting it into an infinite gain for you. You must heighten your discernment during crisis season.

Anytime there is a crisis moment, just know it is victory time; crisis moments are temporary and they shape us. Don’t fear, don’t fret, don’t worry.

It is time to put on your whole spiritual armour, to rise like a giant that you are, and begin to press hard in prayer, worship, fasting, praise, giving and spiritual warfare.

This is how we win our battles, this is how we turn crisis moments to celebration moments; this is how we command light to shine out of darkness.

The earth was in crisis at creation, but God responded by commanding light to shine out of the horrible situation; by creating beauty from ashes and something out of nothing. What are you commanding today? This is our model. Glory to God!
