2 Corinthians 1: 20 (KJV)
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
All the promises of God are “YES” in Christ, All of God’s promises are guaranteed and confirmed in Christ Jesus. No promise of God is suggestive, they are affirmative. As long as God promises it, the fidelity of God will strengthen it and bring it to pass. There is no “NO” with God’s promises, they are “Yes”, all of them.
Does God promise to heal? Yes! Does God prosper? Yes! Is God willing to meet my needs? Yes! Can God protect and preserve me? Yes! Will God answer my prayers? Yes! Is He willing to forgive my sins and erase my past? Yes! Can I trust God with my life? Yes! Will God be with me forever? Yes!
Think of any promise, we have an utmost assurance from the Word that all of God’s promises in Christ Jesus are “Yes”. All of God’s promises find their expression in Christ Jesus. In Christ Jesus, God’s promises are fulfilled. This is true for everyone who places their trust in Christ as well
The other part of this scripture is “All the promises of God in Christ are “AMEN”
This gets more interesting. Let’s dive deeper.
Revelation 3: 14 (KJV)
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
This verse in the Book of Revelation identifies Jesus as “The Amen.” Jesus is called “The Amen”. In this context, “Amen” signifies truth, reliability, and the finality of God’s word.
Amen means “so be it” or “so it is” or “truly” or “a strong affirmation of truth”. This is what Jesus represents.
All the promises of God in Christ are “Amen”. Jesus is the “Amen” of all of God’s promises. He doesn’t fulfil them only; He endorses, affirms and finalises them.
Many times what God expects from you is to give a voice to what Jesus already finalized. God wants to hear your “Amen”. God is looking for someone to shout “Amen” in agreement with His promise.
If we are going to see the word of God fulfilled in our lives, we must agree with it. We must agree with what God says about Himself, what God says about us and what God says about our situation.
Amos 3: 3 (KJV)
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
The verb “agree” means to think or say the same thing as the other party. It expresses harmony between two or more people. To agree with God’s word means you know the mind of God concerning a thing and that you are ready to bring yourself in tandem with His mindset.
If your faith says “Yes”, God can’t say “No”.
The Amplified Version makes it richer
2 Corinthians 1: 20 (AMPC)
For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.
Christ is “The Amen” of God, and there must be an “An Amen” from us to bring us in sync with God’s promises. We utter “Amen” because of the infallibility of the person behind the promises.
Our “Amen” agrees with God, but ultimately, it brings glory to Him.
DECLARATION
I agree with every promise of God. I judge God faithful in every phase of my ordeal. I am in sync with what God is doing through Christ in me. There’s no fear, worry or doubt. I bold step into all that God has for me in Christ Jesus. Glory to God!
