“Jesus stood up and commanded the wind and the waves to stop. He said, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind stopped, and the lake became calm.”

There are moments in life when the storm becomes so loud that it feels impossible to hear anything else.
The disciples were in the middle of a violent storm. The wind was raging, the waves were beating against the boat, and fear had taken over. Yet Jesus was not intimidated by what was happening around Him.
He stood up and spoke to the storm:
“Quiet! Be still!”
And immediately, the wind stopped and the sea became calm.
Jesus did not describe the storm.
He did not magnify the problem.
He did not speak fear.
He spoke what He wanted to see.
This is an important lesson for us as believers.
Sometimes, when we face difficult situations, our words become a reflection of what we see rather than what we believe. We say, “Nothing is working. Things are getting worse. I don’t know what will happen.”
But faith speaks differently.
Faith does not deny that the storm exists; faith refuses to give the storm the final word.
Jesus saw the storm, but He spoke peace.
The question is: What are you saying to your situation?
If you are believing God for restoration, speak restoration.
If you are believing God for provision, speak provision.
If you are believing God for healing, speak His Word concerning healing.
If you are believing God for direction, speak His wisdom.
If you are believing God for victory, speak victory.
Your words should agree with God’s Word and with what He has promised you.
Jesus understood the authority of His words because He understood the One who backed His words. His confidence was not in human ability; His confidence was in God.
Mark 11:23 says:
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart…”
There is power in speaking faith-filled words, but biblical faith is not about using words as magic or saying whatever we desire as though God must obey us. Faith speaks in agreement with God.
So today, be intentional about your words.
Don’t spend all day rehearsing the problem.
Don’t give fear a microphone.
Don’t allow the storm to dictate your confession.
Speak God’s Word. Speak faith. Speak what God has said.
The storm may be loud, but God’s Word is greater.
DECLARATION
As I speak in faith, I do not doubt in my heart. I believe that what I say, in agreement with God’s Word, will come to pass. I speak life. I speak peace. I speak victory. I speak God’s promises over my life, and I trust Him to bring His Word to pass.
