It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
God has nothing to give to us apart from His Word. He gave us His Word; He also gave us The Holy Spirit. We pride ourselves as people of The Word and of The Spirit. What makes a complete journey in Christ is that we pride ourselves as a people of the Word and of the Spirit.
God has designed that the written Word of God takes the place of Jesus physically on the earth. To cherish the written Word of God is to cherish the person of Jesus. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He’s the Word make flesh. The Bible is not an ordinary book, the message contained in it is not ordinary; it carries the very essence and the totality of God. The person of Jesus!
The Holy Spirit brings us into the full understanding of God’s word. You can not be a proper Bible Student without the Holy Spirit. We read the Word of God to be led by the Holy Spirit, also in the same vein; the Holy Spirit is given to make the Word of God real to us. They are intertwined.
What changes a man is “The Quickened Word”. It can only happen by the Spirit. This is where every letter comes alive; this is when the eyes of our understanding are enlightened; this is when there is a release of the inward man for the breaking of outward man.
Fight and long for “The Quicknened Word”. It is the source of LIFE; the life that quickens the mortal body. When you read your Bible or hear the word of God; keep your eyes alert, yearning and waiting for the Word that quickens; and when it happens, it will be a testimony of glory to glory and grace for grace. Amen!
