Storms are not a question of if; they are a question of when.
Jesus tells us about two people who both heard His Word. Both had access to the same truth, but only one built his life on it. The difference was simple: one heard the Word and obeyed it.
Hearing the Word is powerful, but hearing alone does not build a strong life. It is when the Word moves from our ears into our hearts and then into our actions that it becomes our foundation.
You can know what Scripture says about forgiveness and still refuse to forgive. You can know what God says about prayer and never pray. You can know His promises and still allow fear to dictate your decisions.
The Word was never given merely to be admired; it was given to be lived.
A house is not tested on a sunny day. Its foundation is revealed when the rain comes, the winds blow, and the waters rise. In the same way, the strength of your spiritual foundation becomes evident when life becomes difficult.
Storms may come, disappointment, pressure, uncertainty, loss, opposition—but when your life is built on God’s Word, you have something stronger than your circumstances holding you together.
So don’t wait for the storm before you start building.
Build now. Pray now. Study the Word now. Obey now.
Make God’s Word a priority before you need it to rescue you from a crisis.
The goal is not simply to know more Scripture. The goal is to become a person whose life is shaped by Scripture.
Today, ask yourself: Am I merely hearing God’s Word, or am I building my life on it?
