Spiritual gifts are supernatural endowment for every believer. Any spiritual gift can be possessed if desired. It is God’s will that all of His children operate and walk in the fullness of His plans and purposes for their lives. Spiritual gifts are God’s plans and purposes for us in Christ.
To “lag behind” simply means to fall short or fail to keep pace or progress; and in order not to lag behind in operating in spiritual gifts; first and foremost; it must be encouraged by you. You should not be ignorant of it (1 Corinthians 12: 1). You must encourage yourself to desire and admire the things of God.
1 Corinthians 1: 5 – 7 … “That in everything ye are enriched by Him, in all utterance and in all knowledge; even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Our testimony is Christ in us; our testimony is His word at work, living and active in us. His word rooted in your is the reality. Nothing is more evidential than this. Many are trying to seek for a signs and symbols, but the reality is Christ in you the hope of Glory.
If you don’t want to fail short in any gift; fix your gaze on Christ and His Word alone; For in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2: 3).
As you continue in His word and make progress in your spiritual growth; spiritual gifts would manifest on their own accord; the Holy Spirit who is the administrator of all these gifts know what to do; your duty is to continue to grow in Him and encourage His manifestations/operations in your life.
Encourage the gifts of the Spirit in your life today by allowing every truth of the Word gain ascendancy in your life today! Release yourself to flow in the things of the Spirit; spend to edify yourself by speaking in other tongues often to edify others by prophesying (1 Corinthians 14: 1 – 4).
DECLARATION
I am enriched in all things by the Spirit and I lag behind in no spiritual gift. I yield myself to God and His word and I make substantial progress daily from the inside out. Glory to God!
