What Manner Of Love

1 John 3: 1
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

If there’s one thing to be grateful for every single day of your life is to be thankful for God’s unconditional love bestowed on you in Christ Jesus.

God loves you as much as He loves Jesus; He also gave you the same access Jesus has to the Father. What a privilege!

Thinking about what Jesus went through for the entire human race; pierced in several places of his body, his two hands and legs held by nails and on his head a crown of thorns piercing through his skull; no love or compassion can be greater than this, than for a man to lay down his life for the safety, salvation and soundness of others. This manner of love is worth to behold, to gaze and wonder at.

Blood and water gushed out when a spear was thrust into his bowels by a Roman soldier; he was beaten, wounded and bruised. All the sins, sicknesses, pain, guilt, shame, diseases, infirmities and iniquities of the world were laid on him. His heart broken, body and soul smashed just for one reason – YOU!

All these were done for your sake. He came for you! If you were the only one living in the world, He would still have died for you. (Isaiah 53).

For your sin, He made you His righteousness. For your guilt and shame, He gave us his complete forgiveness; for your condemnation, He sends his peace and joy into your heart; He was crowned with thorns so you can be crowned with glory and honour. He broke down the wall of partition and destroyed the handwriting of the ordinances written against you and nailed them to the cross so you can have free access to pray, worship and come boldly to the Father without any intermediary – This is unconditional love! (Colossians 2: 13 – 15).

If God could not spare his Son, but gave him up just to demonstrate his love for you; If God could commend his love towards you while you were still a sinner; how will He not with Him freely give you all things?

As you feed on His unconditional love for you in Christ Jesus, the fullness of God will begin to gain ascendancy in you and before long, the sufficiency of God will begin to operate in your life vitally. Glory to God! (Romans 5: 8; Romans 8: 32)
