Hebrews 10:39 (ESV)
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
There’s a possibility to shrink back, to draw back or discontinue what you have held most dear. There are people who were on fervent for the Lord in their devotion and service, but later lost their first love and they could not burn with the fire which they were once aflamed with.
We are warned not to shrink back because shrinking back can lead to shipwreck of faith and even a destruction of the soul.
The Bible text tells us we are of a different breed, we are of those who have faith and preserve our souls. Our kind do not draw back, we are made to last. We maintain our conviction to the last degree.
Make up your mind not to shrink back. Press on in your devotion and service to the Lord; double your strength in Christ; fight the good fight of faith.

DECLARATION
I refuse to shrink back in my devotion and service to the Lord. My first love for God is unsullied and uncompromised. I am burning and on fire for the Lord always.
