“Christ in you, the hope of glory.” — Colossians 1:27
There is something powerful about knowing who lives in you.
Sometimes, we look at ourselves through the lens of our limitations—our weaknesses, mistakes, background, or experiences. We may wonder, “How can God use someone like me?” But the Bible gives us a truth that completely changes our perspective:
Christ lives in you.
Paul says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” This means Christianity is not simply about representing Jesus from a distance. Christ has made His dwelling in us. We are His body on the earth.
Jesus said, “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21).
When Jesus walked the earth, people encountered the love, compassion, power, wisdom, and character of God through Him. Today, we are called to make Christ known through our lives.
When you pray for someone, Christ is working through you.
When you encourage someone who is discouraged, Christ is expressing His love through you.
When you speak the truth of God’s Word, Christ is being revealed through you.
When you show kindness in a world that has become increasingly harsh, Christ is being seen through you.
You are not empty.
You are not powerless.
Christ is in you.
This is why Paul could say, “Now ye are the body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27).
Think about the magnitude of that truth. Jesus is no longer physically walking through the streets of Galilee, but His presence is still being manifested through His people. You are His hands. You are His feet. You are His voice. You are His representative.
But there is something we must understand: what God has placed in us must be activated by faith.
Faith believes what God has said, even when our feelings say otherwise.
If you need healing, believe that God is your healer.
If you need wisdom, believe that God gives wisdom.
If you need strength, believe that His grace is sufficient.
If you need courage, believe that the One who lives in you is greater than anything you will face.
The power of God is not something you have to manufacture. Your responsibility is to believe, yield, and allow Christ to work through you.
So, don’t go through today intimidated by your circumstances. Don’t underestimate what God can do through an ordinary person who has surrendered completely to Him.
Christ is in you.
And because Christ is in you, there is hope for your family, hope for your assignment, hope for your generation, and hope for the people God will bring across your path.
