Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
The Jordan River was at flood stage when God told Israel to cross. He didn’t part the waters first and then ask them to walk. He told the priests carrying the Ark to step into the river, and the waters stopped only when “the feet of the priests… were dipped in the brim of the water” (Joshua 3:15)
That’s often how God works. He shows us the way forward once we start walking. Many of us are waiting for the river to part before we move. We want every detail settled and every fear gone before we obey. But faith doesn’t wait for certainty. It acts on God’s word even when nothing has changed yet.
Peter’s story is similar. Eleven disciples stayed in the boat, and one stepped out onto the water. He had faults, but he was the only one who walked on water (Matthew 14:29). You can’t experience the miraculous if you stay where you feel comfortable.
Your bold step might be starting the ministry God placed in your heart, sharing the gospel with someone, forgiving someone who hurt you, or trusting God with your finances. Whatever it is, remember that God doesn’t send you alone. Wherever He leads you, He goes with you.
Fear will always speak, but it doesn’t have to decide what you do. Step into the water, because the river will respond to your obedience.
DECLARATION
I declare that I am strong and of good courage. Fear has no power over me, because the Lord my God goes with me wherever I go. I will not wait for perfect conditions. I step out in faith at God’s word. Every Jordan in front of me gives way, and every closed door opens. I walk boldly into every assignment God has given me, and I will see His wonders in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
